Passport Checks Are Coming to Some Britain-Ireland Ferry Routes
From September 28, 2026, Irish Ferries and Stena Line will require valid passports for all passengers on Dublin-Holyhead, Rosslare-Pembroke and Rosslare-Fishguard routes, ending flexible ID rules like driving licences. The Common Travel Area remains intact; this is an operator boarding requirement, separate from UK ETA rules that may still apply to some travellers.
